Unboxing Global Flavors: A 2019 Munchpak Adventure!

Have you ever wanted to take a trip around the world just by opening a box? Well, that’s pretty much what a munchpak is all about, you know? It’s a subscription box filled with different foods from all around the world, and it’s such a fun way to try new things . The idea is simple: they send you a curated selection of snacks, and you get to test them out right at home . Here’s the thing, there are all kinds of snacks in here, from sweet to savory, and even some unexpected flavors .

What’s really cool is that if you find something you don’t like, no biggie, you don’t have to eat it . But if you discover a new favorite? You can totally enjoy it . Last time we opened one, there was chocolate, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious . It’s an easy way to explore global flavors without even leaving your couch, right?

So, the moment the munchpak box arrived, the excitement was palpable . Unboxing is always a highlight, and seeing all the different wrappers and colors just sparks so much curiosity . Last time, we took turns picking, sometimes even closing our eyes to make it a surprise . This time, though, one of us wasn’t so keen on the blind grab .

We decided to keep it fair and played a round of rock, paper, scissors to see who would go first . Even though one person didn’t want to close their eyes, the first picker went for it, reaching into the super full box without peeking . It’s always a little chaotic and totally fun trying to decide what to pick when there’s so much in there, you know?

The very first pick from the box was a soda bottle with pictures of peaches on it . We couldn’t read the language on the bottle, but the pictures gave us a hint . Oh my gosh, one of us just knew it was going to be delicious right away . When we opened it, there was this amazing sound .

The smell? It totally smelled like peach, just like those peach gummy rings . The initial taste test got an immediate thumbs up, even calling it “already good” . However, in a surprising turn, someone else gave it a thumbs down, perhaps because it was really fizzy and might have been better cold .

Next up were these super cute candies called tiny, tangy, fruity shoes . They looked kind of like Nerds, but chewy . They had a little crown on the front, which made us think they must be the best candy ever . And guess what? The first taste received a big thumbs up ! They were flavored red, blue, and green, tasting like strawberry, green apple, and blue raspberry . Another thumbs up followed, proving these tiny shoes were a hit .

Moving deeper into the box, we found some really unique treats, like this one that was described as a puff pastry with apricot filling . Initially, there was some hesitation, a strong declaration of “I am not going to eat it” . It looked like a crunchy bread .

However, upon trying it, the reaction was dramatic – a whopping 84,300 thumbs down! It was described as really flaky . Despite that strong negative reaction, another family member actually liked it, even comparing it to honeycomb and saying it was delicious . This just goes to show how different taste buds can be!

And then there were the chips that were definitely a curveball: italian red meat flavor . These chips were from China, which was a surprising combination, you know? The anticipation was high, but the reaction was swift and negative . It received a massive 800,400 thumbs down! Definitely not a favorite for everyone involved.

Not all the snacks brought such strong negative reactions, thankfully! We stumbled upon these lemonade chewy rings, and if you know me, I love sour . The name hinted that they might be sour, and their appearance suggested it too . While some thought they were super sour, others found they weren’t that sour at all .

For one of us, these were a definite winner, earning two thumbs up and a million, hundred million, sixty thousand, hundred million, eighty, hundred nine sunsets – yeah, that’s a lot of love! We also found some spicy cheeto shots, which brought mixed reactions . One person loved the heat and gave it a thumbs up, while another found it too hot and gave it a thumbs down .

For those with a sweet tooth, there was a chocolate pretzel, described as rich chocolate in a crispy pretzel . This one was a clear success, receiving thumbs up from multiple people . It just goes to show the variety of flavors packed into one little box!

Wrapping up our munchpak adventure, it was time to declare the ultimate favorites and, of course, the ones that just didn’t hit the mark, you know? Reflecting on all the snacks, the clear favorites for one person were the lemonade chewy candies . For others, a lot of the snacks landed in the “maybe” category .

Now, for the not-so-greats. The absolute worst included the flaming hot Cheetos (surprisingly, since one person loved them!) and some of the chips . One person actually declared the flaming hot Cheetos as their favorite, which is pretty wild, right? The apricot pastry and the Italian red meat chips were also high on the “yuckiest” list . It’s fascinating how different everyone’s preferences are!

Ultimately, this munchpak brought a whole range of flavors and reactions, some delightful surprises and some definite thumbs down moments.
